Mixing

Stereo mixes that let your track breathe: balance, depth and dynamics shaped for streaming and download, with clear rules on revisions and delivery.

Mix engineer works at a compact console with monitors in the studio.

Mixing at Natickpixelhub means blending your recorded and programmed parts into one coherent stereo file. We work offline from stems or session exports, or with you in the mix suite on Kinkerstraat in Amsterdam when you book attended time.

Whether you tracked vocals in our vocal booth, send stems from a home setup or finish a band project, we start with a technical intake. Read export stems for mixing before upload, and FAQ for general turnaround notes.

Process

  1. Delivery

You upload stems or an organised session with tempo, key and references. We confirm completeness within 2 business days and which rate applies.

  2. Balance

First mix: levels, EQ, compression, panning, sends and basic automation. Not mastering — that is mastering.

  3. Feedback

You receive a stereo bounce. You get 2 revision rounds with bundled notes; extra rounds are hourly.

  4. Final

Approved mix as WAV (and instrumental on request). Archive for 18 months; billing follows terms and conditions.

What mixing means here

We deliver a stereo mix ready for mastering, not a loudness-maxed master. Dynamics stay intentional so a mastering engineer still has room. For home listening we send a bounce at a sensible streaming level without claiming every platform will sound identical.

Genres range from indie and electronic to hip-hop and singer-songwriter; the approach is project-specific. We note key decisions briefly in the delivery email so you know which version is final.

If you have a reference mix, send it with a timestamp to listen from; that often saves one revision round.

Stems and session requirements

Ideal delivery: WAV stems, 24-bit, one sample rate, same start point, no bus processing unless intentional. No mp3 stems for the main mix. Name tracks clearly: Kick, Bass DI, Vox Lead, and so on.

Our article export stems for mixing lists bounce settings per DAW. Incomplete uploads delay start; we report missing files before charging.

Attended vs unattended

Unattended is most common: you send files, we mix on business days and schedule feedback by email or contact. Attended means you listen in the studio at €92 incl. 21% VAT per hour — useful for last-minute arrangement choices or adjusting to a new direction.

Attended time does not replace the per-track price for a full offline mix; we combine both only when quoted upfront.

Revisions and scope

Each track or EP package includes 2 revision rounds after the first mix. One round means one bundled list of changes, not ten separate emails. Major structural changes — new stems, different arrangement — sit outside revision and need a new quote.

After approval we deliver the final mix. Tweaks after mastering belong to mastering or a new mix job, not open-ended free passes.

Rate overview

Per track: €192 incl. VAT (€158.68 excl.). EP up to six tracks: €565 as a bundle. Attended hour: €92.

Turnaround

Offline mixes usually start within five to ten business days after complete delivery, depending on queue. Attended sessions follow Mon–Fri 9:30–18:30, Sat 12–16 (by appointment). Rush is sometimes available for a surcharge — ask ahead via 020 245 8317 or [email protected].

When you deliver several titles at once, number folders and state playback order in your email so mixes are not swapped.

We state an expected delivery date in confirmation. Missing stems or late feedback moves that date.

Engineer and room

Mix engineer Jasper Meijer works in our suite with controlled monitoring on Kinkerstraat 312. The 24 m² live room is not used for mixing, which keeps the listening environment stable.
